Dashrath (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) lives in a village where evils like caste system and untouchability rules the people (before independence). As Dashrath’s father failed to pay taxes, he forced Dasharth into a child marriage and his father decides to sell him as bonded labor to Mukhiya.
Dashrath decides to escape from his village and he decides to return after seven years later from Dhanbad. After he returns from Dhanbad, he falls in love with Phaguniya (played by Radhika Apte).
The duo falls in love with each other but Phaguniya’s father rejects their love as Dashrath does not have any job. In the mean time, Dashrath comes to know that the girl he married in his childhood and Phaguniya are same.
The duo leads a happy life after knowing the truth. Unfortunately, Phaguniya slips from the mountain during her pregnancy and dies since the hospital is 55 kilometers away. In order to take revenge, Dashrath decided to break those mountains and make a path to the hospital as he did not like no one should not suffer like him.
Nawazuddion Siddiqui played his role perfectly and his brilliant act makes this movie a worth watch. His expressions, acting shows what a good actor he is.
Actress Radhika Apte has limited screen presence and she looks beautiful in this movie. Remaining star cast did perfect justice to their roles.

Screenplay is the another hero for Manjhi – The Mountain. Camerawork is pretty good. Director of this movie deserves a special mention. Cinematography is nice.
Watch it for Nawazuddin’s performance… A must watch movie in this modern generation!
